Aniimo Official Catching Items and Capture Rules
A source-checked guide to Aniipod variants, Aniipod Ultra, Sparkling Cube, and Tumbler based on Aniimo's official probability page.
When should you use this guide?
Use this summary before spending a rare catching item on an Aniimo. Targets can have additional restrictions, and the live in-game event or capture panel should take priority when it conflicts with an older public explanation.
Catching items named by the official page
The official probability page lists these items and public multipliers:
- Aniipod: the standard catching item.
- Aniipod Pro: listed at ×1.5.
- Aniipod Hyper, Aniipod Trace, and Aniipod Mega: listed at ×2.
- Aniipod Ultra: listed as guaranteed success.
- Sparkling Cube: listed as guaranteed success.
- Tumbler: listed at ×2 normally and ×6 when used on Wild Surge targets.
“Guaranteed success” should still be read together with target restrictions, story overrides, and current event rules. It does not mean every target can be captured.
Other factors in the capture result
The official formula separates base chance, catching-item multiplier, level difference, back attacks, target HP, and special statuses. Outside-combat and in-combat calculations use different factors.
The developer letter also says that Aniimo caught with a Sparkling Cube have guaranteed Perfect Potential. Treat this as a version-specific official note and recheck later announcements for changes.
A safe order for new players
- Confirm that the target is capturable before spending a rare item.
- Use a standard Aniipod for ordinary targets when appropriate; save Ultra, Sparkling Cube, and Tumbler for planned encounters.
- Check the live capture panel for Wild Surge or special-status rules.
- Record the version and target name before adding an observation to the compendium verification guide.
